Brentwood concert raises five-figure sum for Ukraine

04 April 2022

Over £17,000 has been raised for the British Red Cross DEC Ukraine Appeal following Brentwood’s Concert For Ukraine.

More than 500 people attended the special event on March 26th – sponsored by BeFibre – to enjoy an evening of entertainment, featuring the Brentwood Imperial Youth Band.

Funds raised from the concert at The Brentwood Centre – which was also supported by Brentwood Borough Council and Everyone Active – has already reached five figures, and donations are still coming in.

Charlie Ruddy, CEO of BeFibre, said: “We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the Brentwood community in what was a truly emotional night. Thank you to everyone who attended and for all who worked so hard to put on an incredible event in such a short space of time.

“It was a privilege for BeFibre to play a part in a collective, humanitarian effort to help our Ukrainian friends in need.”

A Brentwood Borough Council spokesperson added: “We would like to thank everyone who supported Brentwood’s Concert For Ukraine.

“Brentwood residents and businesses have once again shown how quickly they can come together to show their solidarity for the people of Ukraine and Ukrainians living in our borough.

“A big thank you to the Brentwood Imperial Youth Band for a brilliant performance and to all the organisations who helped organise and support the event to make it happen, including Everyone Active, and event sponsor, BeFibre.”

BeFibre is no stranger to Brentwood, having been in the area delivering fibre-to-the-premises broadband connectivity for up to 14,000 residential premises. When our team heard about the plans to hold a fundraising concert, we wasted no time in getting involved – donating £10,000 to the cause.
