Fit-for-the-future broadband provider BeFibre is coming to Thurnscoe, Harlington, Barnburgh, Bolton upon Dearne, and Goldthorpe

Fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) connectivity will soon be available in the areas of Thurnscoe, Barnburgh, Bolton upon Dearne, Goldthorpe, and Harlington, as altnet provider Digital Infrastructure continues to deploy its full fibre network. 

The network will be planned, built, and operated by Digital Infrastructure, as part of a national rollout, which is backed by £100m of private funding. Utilising existing ducts without having to dig up the village’s roads, the firm’s strategy is to adopt quicker and less disruptive build methods, to lower roll-out costs, increase efficiency, and minimise the environmental impact of the network deployment. 

Aiming to leave a positive legacy in society, the project – which is due to begin this month by Digital Infrastructure – represents a major connectivity upgrade for Thurnscoe and surrounding areas, with next-generation FTTP connectivity set to be available for local residents, many of which might not truly be receiving the bandwidth they’re paying for, currently.

The UK telecommunication infrastructure owner and provider will work alongside broadband retailer and sister company, BeFibre, to shortly move a team of  engineers into the area, to begin work to get homes ready for service. With a phased roll-out programme planned, residents will soon be able to enjoy a fit-for-the-future internet that delivers the guaranteed speeds people need now and for years to come. It is expected that Thurnscoe and the surrounding areas will be BeFibre broadband-ready in Autumn 2023.

Striving to be known as the internet service provider that keeps its promises – and delivers broadband as it should be – BeFibre will offer download and upload speeds up to 13 times faster than the fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) coverage that currently spans much of the UK.

400,000 addresses are already part of Digital Infrastructure’s fully designed base, and over 100,000 now ready for connection across the UK.
